When registering for the ICTS, indicate your test area choice. Refer to the following tables to select a test area. Depending on the number of examinees registering for tests, there may be more than one testing facility for any one test site area at any of these locations. Check your admission ticket for the address of and directions to the site to which you have been assigned.

Sites are listed according to the general area of their location and may not be within the actual city limits. There may be more than one test site for the City of Chicago–central/downtown test area, but all sites will be accessible by public transportation. The City of Chicago–southwest test site is generally located south of 55th Street, north of 127th Street, west of Pulaski, and east of Route 55. The Chicago suburbs–north test site is generally located north of O’Hare International Airport in a suburb north of Interstate 90. The Chicago suburbs–south test site is generally located in the Orland Park/Harvey/Richton Park area. The Chicago suburbs–west test site is generally located in the Naperville/Wheaton/Glen Ellyn/Elmhurst area but has been as far east as Brookfield/Riverside.

If you are registering to take a language proficiency test for the Transitional Bilingual Certificate, you must select 014 Chicago area as your test area. The test site for the 014 Chicago area is generally located south of Devon, north of 123rd Street, and east of Central and will be accessible by public transportation. You may take only the language proficiency tests and the Basic Skills test at test area 014.

Since assignment to a test site depends on available space, register as early as possible to increase your chances of being assigned to a test site within your first-choice area. When registering by mail, be sure to select a second-choice test area in case space is not available at a test site within your first-choice area. Site locations are selected based on availability and appropriateness of the facil ities for test administration. Requests to be assigned to a specific testing facility within a test site area or to be changed from one testing facility to another within the same test area cannot be honored.

Due to factors beyond the control of ISBE and Evaluation Systems, the test site locations described in this section cannot be guaranteed. Sites are subject to change in the event of scheduling conflicts. If it becomes necessary to change a test site, every attempt will be made to ensure that the new site is located in the same general area as the one you originally requested.
