Register For Basic Skills Computer-Based Testing
Welcome to Internet registration for the computer-based Basic Skills test. Testing is available on a first-come, first-served basis at Pearson Professional Centers nationwide (including at least six in Illinois) during select five- or six-day testing windows. Refer to "Test Dates" for a list of the testing windows currently open for registration and "Test Sites" for information about available test centers.
There is a computer-based testing fee of $84, in addition to the $60 Basic Skills test fee and the $26 registration processing fee.
Before You Register
Before registering on the Internet, you should carefully review the 2009–2010 ICTS Registration Bulletin, which contains important instructions, rules, policies, and other terms and conditions that apply to your registration and the test administration. The following are required to register:
- You must be able to pay by credit card (VISA or MasterCard only) or a debit or check card that carries the VISA or MasterCard logo and that can be used without the entry of a personal identification number (PIN). Bank cards without the VISA or MasterCard logo cannot be accepted.
- You must have a valid e-mail address.
- You must supply your U.S. social security number. If you do not have a U.S. social security number, contact your regional office of education. You will be assigned a temporary identification number by the Illinois State Board of Education.
- You must use a compatible browser (Microsoft® Internet Explorer 6.0, Firefox® 1.5, or higher).
- You must read and agree to the Rules of Test Participation for Computer-Based Testing. Submission of your Internet registration will indicate that you have read and agree to abide by each of the Rules of Test Participation for Computer-Based Testing, as well as all instructions, policies, and other terms and conditions contained in the 2009–2010 ICTS Registration Bulletin.
- You must complete each Internet registration page within 20 minutes. If you do not, your session will expire and any information previously entered will be lost.
